Historical Treasures Diverse Adventures
To Commemorate the Fil- Am Friendship
Day, the badminton group decided to go to a historical landmark- Corregidor Island. We went to the dock around seven
thirty in the morning. We boarded around eight o'clock and the ship sailed around eight fifteen. It's quite a ride, so
people who easily gets dizzy like I do , I would advice to take bonamine tablet. We arrived at the island around 9:45am. We
aboard a Sun Cruise bus and have our english-speaking guided tour. There is also a tour for the Japanese, of course in Japanese
language too. First stop, we went to see the Middleside barracks, Battery Way, which was completed in 1913, We also visited
the Mile Long Barracks, an old Spanish Light House, and The Pacific War Memorial. After we had our lunch at the Corregidor
Inn- the number one hotel (the island has only one hehehe), we went to see the highlight of the trip, the Malinta Tunnel.
For an additional PhP 150, you can get to see the tunnel where then President Quezon went into hiding during the WW II. The
tunnel also served as a hospital during those times. Below are pics taken during the exhausting trip!
